It is often overlooked, but those who travel by motorhome to the south-west of Poland, will discover one of the country's most beautiful regions: Lower Silesia. Think of mysterious castles, flat mountain peaks, ancient churches and vast nature parks. Here, you travel through green valleys, historic towns and rugged nature parks, perfect for motorhomers who are eager to explore the unknown.
In this blog, we highlight five unique sights, all easily accessible by motorhome. And of course, we recommend a great place to stay from the Campercontact app for each highlight. All you have to do is start the engine, drive and enjoy.
Deep in the forested landscape near Wałbrzych lies Zamek Książ: the largest castle in Lower Silesia and one of the most intriguing in all of Poland. With its tall towers, terraced gardens and views over the Pełcznica River, it feels like something out of a fairytale. But behind the façade lies a darker story: during World War II, part of the castle was converted into an underground Nazi complex. Today, visitors can explore both the historic rooms and the network of bunker tunnels beneath the castle.
"Very friendly welcome. Owner speaks English. Dog-friendly. Very well-maintained lawn. We were allowed to choose our own pitch. Everything was clean and tidy. Highly recommended." - Skluss
Camping Pod Lasem is located in a beautiful, hilly and wooded area between the town of Bolków and the ruins of Świny Castle. The campsite is peaceful, family-oriented and surrounded by nature, with a small stream running through the grounds.
In the south of Lower Silesia, near the Czech border, lie the Table Mountains: a landscape that looks like it belongs on another planet. In Polish, the park is called Góry Stołowe, which literally means “table mountains”, and it's easy to see why. Massive rock formations in bizarre shapes, narrow crevices you have to crawl through and, on top of the plateau, a breathtaking view over the border region. The most famous hiking trail? The one leading to the summit of Szczeliniec Wielki, a challenging climb, but definitely worth the effort.

Świdnica is a charming town with colourful facades and a lively square, but the real highlight lies just beyond: the Church of Peace (Kościół Pokoju). This impressive 17th-century wooden structure is the largest half-timbered church in Europe and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the outside, it looks quite modest—but step inside and you’ll find a richly decorated Baroque interior that’s surprisingly spacious, suitable for no less than 7,500 people. Visiting it feels like stepping back in time

"What a great campsite! We were warmly welcomed. Since we hadn't booked and the campsite was almost full, the lady at reception kept checking for pitches where we could stay for one or two nights. In the end, we moved four times. The atmosphere on the campsite is very pleasant. The heart of the site is a large lodge with the reception, sanitary facilities and a restaurant. The sanitary facilities are clean and the restaurant serves excellent food." - Desiree-Ron
